You know, I don’t think I really understood before just how many petals a chrysanthemum has! I’m still working on outlining the petals. It’s definitely coming along, though. The end is nigh. (That really doesn’t sound as positive as I mean it).
The lighting is bad this morning, but I need to get to work, so I’m posting them anyway. I’m sure y’all will survive.
Here is some more detail on the blossom.
The colors and your work are just beautiful!
thanks!
your crysanthemum is lovely. The thread has a lovely shine that matches the gold work, thank you for sharing your work and embroideries from round the world
glad you enjoy it
Really Lovely!! I’ll have to go back to the other posts on this one – curious about the type of thread you’re using for the embroidery! So pretty!!
MC
It’s rayon. Thanks for the compliment š I’m looking forward to watching your brand new project. Those Tudor roses are lovely!
Gorgeous! You’re a better man–er woman than me, Gunga Din. Don’t like working with rayon. How is the Joker coming?
Well, I admit rayon can be tricky. But I’m slowly getting better at managing it. And it’s so pretty!
I need to find some time and energy for more work on the Joker. I use up most of my creative energy at work, so it’s a lot easier to make progress on kits than on my own designs.
The chrysanthemum is looking sumptious and beautiful, depite the poor light!
Very nice
Exquisite !! Which brand of rayon are you using? Edmar?
No, it’s DMC stranded Rayon Art 1008. Came with the kit!
It is looking lovely. Rayon shines beautifully but it can be, shall we say, challenging to work with š One thing that I found helpful when I’ve used rayon is to half hitch the thread in the needle. I don’t think that it improved my stitching but it did prevent the thread from sliding out of the eye all of the time which improved my humour!
You have done really well.
Yes, you’ve made great progress on this. Crysanthemums do seem to have a lot of petals, don’t they!
very pretty!could you please tell about the gold thread which you’d used?
Japan gold size T70 (I found an example here http://www.berlinembroidery.com/colouredmetalthreads.htm#japanthreads). I don’t know what company. It might be imitation gold? I am unsure. Came with the kit! Kit is from the Mary Jane Collection, http://www.maryjanecollection.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Goldwork_3.html
Thank you Hannah
