Plas Teg Bellpull: Berries
These purple things supposedly represent berries, though I think they look like flowers. They’re in a variant of spider-web stitch, which can make some really interesting textures. I finished off the blue flower in the corner too. At this point … Continue reading

Needlework accessories wishlist
Today I have a wishlist of needlework accessories I’d like to see more often. There are lots of patterns for biscornus and needlecases and boxes and table runners. But I’d like to see more of these: I’d love to see … Continue reading

Book Review: The Anchor Book of Crewelwork Embroidery Stitches
This is a very positive review of “The Anchor Book of Crewelwork Embroidery Stitches” by Eve Harlow. David & Charles, 1997. ISBN 0-7153-0632-4 It’s a really great little book! It has 48 different stitches, each illustrated with a small crewel … Continue reading
Manohra Thai Dance: Face
I thought and thought about how to do the face. I finally settled on a needlepoint approach with two skin tones, pink for the lips, and brown for the other features. I worked it with only one strand of floss. … Continue reading
Manohra Thai Dance: Legs
Look, she’s got legs! You can’t dance without legs. Also, I am going to leave the stem stitch ridges in the skirt as they are now rather than filling it in entirely. The pink ribbon at the right came with the … Continue reading
