This post is late due to a serious case of Being On Vacation In Japan. It was absolutely fabulous! I took my watercolors and painted my way around Kyoto. The goal was three a day 🙂 I am happy to report that it went very well. I hope to turn some of the art into embroidery designs of my own. Here’s a flower from Koumyouiin temple:
This one is Daikakuji temple:

I’m hoping to find time to photograph my work and set up an artist homepage for it sometime soon. My portrait painting is really coming along too. I will be sure to let y’all know!
What fabulous paintings! They look so effortless which must be the secret of genuine talent!
More strength to you for all your creativity .
Ha, actually lots of effort is the secret of genuine talent 🙂 Practice practice!
Even just painting three times a day can make a huge difference, both in competence and in confidence. I did the same a few years ago, but I didn’t manage to keep it up when I got home – I hope you will!
Well, I make sure I paint at least once a week by signing up for art class 🙂
Lovely paintings. How big/small are these? I’m glad that your plan went well and I think to paint thrice a day is amazing ,well done Hannah!
It was intense! The smallest is 7×10 inches. The painting from Rokakku-do is 9 x 12 inches, and the largest is the ikebana at 14 x 20 inches.
lovely, Hannah!!! continue painting. best.
