Bluebird In Progress
I started work on the first bluebird for the Bluebird Floral project. I’ve been referring to Trish Burr’s new book, Colour Confidence in Embroidery, to improve the feather/stitch directions. It’s helping a lot! Here are photos of my progress through … Continue reading

New Project: Bluebird
Y’all, I am back! I was totally swamped by work for a few weeks, but I am resuming posting now. To motivate myself, I started on this lovely Elsa Williams kit, Bluebird Floral. Pretty, isn’t it? I’m just doing this … Continue reading
Bird Brocade II
So, I’ve been stitching up a storm in the last week. You can see the last report in the earlier post Bird Brocade. As a reminder, I am keeping the colors and designs from the kit, but inventing my own … Continue reading

Bird Brocade
I recently started working on the Bird Brocade kit (crewel embroidery) by Elsa Williams from Janlynn. I like the design, but this kit has a whole lot of satin and long+short stitch, and I prefer a lot of different stitches. … Continue reading
